At about 1900 hrs on 04 May 07
Indian Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Sub Centre at Porbandar received
a request from M/S Tarus Shipping Pvt Ltd, Kandla for Medical
Evacuation of three injured crew of MV Agios Raphael in position
about six nautical miles west of Dwarka. Indian Coast Guard Ship
Meera Behn on patrol in area was diverted to facilitate Medical
Evacuation and at the same time ICGS C-136 was also kept standby at
Okha for disembarkation of injured crew, if required.
The Indian Coast Guard Ship arrived the area at
about 2220 hrs on 04 May 2007 and transferred the injured crew
onboard. They were further disembarked to Indian Coast Guard Ship
C-136 at about 0010 hrs on 05 May 2007 for onward transfer to
Okha. The crew were handed over to the local agents for further
medical treatment.
