MEDICAL EVACUATION FROM MV HUA YUN HE - 05 MAY 07

At about 1900 hrs on 04 May 07 Indian Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre at Port Blair received a request for Medical Evacuation from M/S Eurasia International GmbH & Co.KG, Germany agent of MV Hua Yun He for a crew suffering from Acute Abdominal Pain suspected to be appendicitis in position 410 nautical miles  West of Indra point (A & N Islands). MRCC Port Blair advised the vessel to proceed towards Port Blair to facilitate Medical Evacuation. 

         

Indian Coast Guard helicopter was launched from Port Blair at about 1300 hrs on 05 May 07 and evacuated the patient in position five nautical miles East of Little Andaman Island.  The patient was brought to Port Blair and handed over to the local  agent of the vessel.

 

MEDICAL EVACUATION FROM MV AGIOS RAPHAEL - 05 MAY 07

At about 1900 hrs on 04 May 07 Indian Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Sub Centre at Porbandar received a request from M/S Tarus Shipping Pvt Ltd, Kandla for  Medical Evacuation of three injured crew of MV Agios Raphael in position about six nautical miles west of Dwarka.  Indian Coast Guard Ship Meera Behn on patrol in area was diverted to facilitate Medical Evacuation and at the same time ICGS C-136 was also kept standby at Okha for disembarkation of injured crew, if required. 

 

The Indian Coast Guard Ship arrived the area at about 2220 hrs on 04 May 2007 and transferred the injured crew onboard.  They were further disembarked to Indian Coast Guard Ship C-136 at about 0010 hrs on 05 May 2007 for onward transfer to Okha.  The crew were handed over to the local agents for further medical treatment.
