DG ICG Handing Over Ceremony - 30 Nov 2008

 Having steered the Indian Coast Guard for over two years, the Director General Indian Coast Guard (DG ICG), Vice Admiral RF Contractor, AVSM, NM, handed over the reins of Organisation to Vice Admiral Anil Chopra, AVSM. The simple ceremony, was held at the Coast Guard Headquarters on Sunday, 30 Nov 08.

Vice Admiral Anil Chopra, AVSM, has held various prestigious ashore and afloat appointments in the Indian Navy, and was the Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet, prior taking over as the Director General. 

Vice Admiral RF Contractor, AVSM, NM took over the helm of the Indian Coast Guard, on 31 Aug 2006. With the relinquishment of the Command of the organisation, the Admiral also retired from his parent service - the Indian Navy, on superannuation, at the age of 60 years after rendering 37 years of distinguished service to the nation.
