On 03 May 2005 Indian Coast Guard Ship
Tarabai whilst on patrol observed an unusual movement of a floating object in
position 122 NM North West of Murmagao Head. The Ship reduced her speed
and maneuvered to get close to the floating object to investigate. On stopping
it was observed that two live sea turtles were entangled in the fishing nets.
The ship recovered the turtles onboard and the nets were cut immediately with
utmost care so as to avoid injury to the turtles. The turtles were thereafter
released into the sea.
