The Headquarters of Coast Guard Western Region is located at Mumbai. The region is commanded by Inspector General SPS Basra, YSM, PTM, TM. The entire coast line from Daman to Kanyakumari including the Union Territory of Lakshadweep comes under the operational and administrative control of the Commander, Coast Guard Region (West). There are 05 Coast Guard District Headquarters, 07 Coast Guard Stations, 01 Air Station  and 02 Air Enclaves on the Western seaboard of India.

TRAINING OF MARINE POLICE

ICGS Kamladevi conducted training  for Maharashtra marine police. They were briefed about various navigational equipment fitted onboard and their usage followed by instruction on boarding operation.

COMCG VISIT

Inspector General SPS Basra, PTM, TM, the Commander Coast Guard Region (West) visited Bureau of Naviks at Mankhurd in Mumbai.

Community Interaction

ICGS Murud Janjira organised community interaction at Nandgaon fishing village in  Murud on 21 Nov 11. During the community interaction fishermen were guided about coastal security and intimated all contact details of various agencies involved in coastal security.

Training Of Cadets

Under trainee cadets (women CG officers) from Ezhimala naval academy underwent sea training onboard ICGS Laxshmi Bai from  01 - 03 Nov 2011. 

Survival Camp

CGAS Daman conducted a survival camp on 23 Nov 2011. Six trainee officers took route march of 5 km from Khanvel to  camp site. During this camp,  trainees were also exposed to stay in jungle and practice their survival training in actual situation involving usage of survival aids, tent pitching, lighting of camp fire, long march thorough jungle and overnight stay in area infested with wild animals and snakes.
