The Headquarters of Coast Guard Western Region is located at Mumbai. The region is commanded by Inspector General SPS Basra, YSM, PTM, TM. The entire coast line from Daman to Kanyakumari including the Union Territory of Lakshadweep comes under the operational and administrative control of the Commander, Coast Guard Region (West). There are 05 Coast Guard District Headquarters, 07 Coast Guard Stations, 01 Air Station  and 02 Air Enclaves on the Western seaboard of India.

Visit of Director General indian Coast Guard to Western Region

Director General Indian Coast Guard on his visit to Western Region visited Bureau of Naviks and Coast Guard Store Depot on 21 Jun11. The DGICG was briefed about Store Management System and other development of store by Officer in charge CGSD Mumbai.

CRPF trainees along with training Officer Dy Comdt SB Singh from CRPF training center, Gurgaon visited ship at Naval Dockyard (MB) on 11 Jun 11. Walk around was organised for trainee officers and were introduced to the state-of-art equipment/systems onboard.

Indian Coast Guard along with Indian Navy, Coastal Security Police and Fisheries department organised a combined coastal  community interaction at Malpe fishing harbour on 16 Jun 11.  Indian Coast Guard explain the operation of DATs and various issues related to safety and security of the coast line to create awareness of their contribution to national security.

ICGS Dahanu conducted a community interaction and distribution of DATS (Distress Alert Transmission System) programme for fishermen of Dahanu on 28 Jun 11.

Inter region table tennis championship was conducted at Indian Coast Guard Station Daman from 27 – 30 Jun 2011. Five teams  participated in the Championship and Andaman Nicobar  Region were the winner.
