The Headquarters of Coast Guard Western Region is located at Mumbai. The region is commanded by Inspector General SPS Basra, YSM, PTM, TM. The entire coast line from Daman to Kanyakumari including the Union Territory of Lakshadweep comes under the operational and administrative control of the Commander, Coast Guard Region (West). There are 05 Coast Guard District Headquarters, 07 Coast Guard Stations, 01 Air Station  and 02 Air Enclaves on the Western seaboard of India.

COASTAL SECURITY AWARENESS RALLY

Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters-2 organised coastal security awareness rally from Mumbai to Daman on  06 Jan 12.  IG SPS Basra, YSM, PTM, TM COMCG (W) flag off the rally  comprising of 31 personnel from Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, Marine police, Customs and ONGC. The team visited 11 coastal fishing villages  and interacted with approx 2000 fishermen. The team spread awareness on coastal security with an aim to develop the fishermen as Eyes and Ears towards enhancement of security mechanism.

National Youth Festival

The 17^th national youth festival was organized from 12 Jan 11 to 16 Jan 12 at Manga Stadium, Mangalore.

Blood Donation

Blood donation camp was organised by Coast Guard District Headquarters-3 as part of CG day celebration.
