The Regional Headquarters of Coast Guard, Andaman & Nicobar Region is located at Port Blair. Presently the Region is commanded by Inspector General KC Pande, TM. The Region has a force level of one OPV, three FPVs, three IPVs, two Dornier aircraft and two Chetak helicopters in this region. |

INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP DAY |

Coast Guard Air Enclave (Port Blair) has organised coastal cleanup drive at Carbyn Cove beach, Port Blair on the occasion of International Coastal Cleanup day. Various NGOs, schools, local police and fire department have participated in the drive apart from the Coast Guard personnel and families. |

A cycling expedition was organised by Coast Guard Station Port Blair on 03 Sep 2010 from Coast Guard indoor sports complex to Carbyn Cove beach. All Sub Officers from the ships and establishment at Port Blair have participated. |

DENTAL CHECKUP |

Indian Coast Guard Ship Kanaklata Barua organised a dental check up camp for CG families at Coast Guard MI Room on 09 Sep 2010. A large number of patients were treated at the camp and few were referred to INHS Dhanvantri Dental Centre for further dental management. |

HINDI FORTNIGHT CELEBRATION |

The Headquarters (A&N) celebrated Hindi fortnight week from 14 Sep to 29 Sep 10. Various events like hindi essay writing, hindi kavita paath, hindi debate and hindi essay writing for non hindi speaking personnel were organised to promote usage of Rastriya Bhasha in Coast Guard. Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) distributed the prizes for the winners of events on 29 Sep 10. |
