            The Regional Headquarters of Coast Guard, Andaman & Nicobar Region is located at Port Blair. Presently the Region is commanded by Inspector General KC Pande, TM. The Region has a force level of one OPV, three FPVs, three IPVs, two Dornier aircraft and two Chetak helicopters in this region.

VISIT OF CHILDREN ONBOARD ICGS VARAD 

           An educational visit for the children of Chinmaya Mission, Port Blair was organized onboard ICGS Varad on 08 May 10. The children were familiarized  briefly to Coast Guard operations/charter of duties and future career opportunities in Coast Guard.

THE NEXT GEN ON BOARD  

SAR  OPERATION BY ICGS VARAD

             On 18 May 10 ICGS Varad was tasked for SAR for 03 boats alongwith 10 crew that were stranded at sea in cyclone “ Laila” . The boats had departed Puducherry on 11 May 10 for Port Blair and were overdue to arrive destination by 17 May 10. The ship established RV with boats at 1245 hrs on 19 May 10. Necessary logistics and medical aid were provided to the crews and the boats were brought safely to Port Blair.

SEA-AIR CO-ORDINATION  

VISIT OF MALDIVES DEFENCE DELEGATION 

Brigadier General Abdullah Shamaal, Director General International Defence Cooperation Maldives visited RHQ(A&N) and No.9 District Headquarters, Diglipur on 26 May 10.

CAREER FAIR 2010 AT PORT BLAIR 

               A Coast Guard stall was staged by CGAE(PB) in a  career fair organized by an NGO SAPE at Port Blair on 15th & 16th May 10. The aim was to provide the students community in the Andaman and Nicobar islands of all kind of career related  information and facilitate them to plan their future course of action to build a career in the Indian Coast Guard. The stall was visited by various Govt. and civil dignitaries.

 

CG STALL AT CAREER FAIR  

COMMUNITY INTERACTION 

                 ICGS Kanaklata Barua  organised a Community Interaction programme at Hut Bay Village on 28 May 2010. The event was conducted with the assistance of ICGS Hut Bay with an aim to educate the local fishing community about the use of Distress Alert Transmitter (DAT) and Life Jackets and basic First Aid methods during drowning. Around 60 fishermen attended the Community interaction programme.
