The Regional Headquarters of Coast Guard, Andaman & Nicobar Region is located at Port Blair. Presently the Region is commanded by Deputy Inspector General K R Nautiyal, TM. The Region has a force level of one OPV, three FPVs, three IPVs, two Dornier aircraft and two Chetak helicopters in this region.

           CG Nite was organised at Ambedkar auditorium for CG personnel and their families on 09 Jan 10. During the event, ICGS Kanaklata Barua and C-140 were jointly awarded the taut ship trophy and ICGS Varad was awarded with the best sports unit of the region

              Annual boat race for fishermen community was organised at Port Blair on 12 Jan 2010. The race was organised as one of the events of the CG week celebration on the occasion of 33rd anniversary of  Coast Guard. The race was flagged off by Vice Adm DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM Commander in Chief Andaman & Nicobar Command . The aim of the event was to create awareness among the local population about role of Coast Guard and especially strengthening the confidence between Coast Guard and fisher folks.

          Drawing and Painting competition for children belonging to various schools in Port Blair was organised on 20 Jan 10 as a part of its 33rd  anniversary celebrations. The objective of the painting competition was to identify and recognise talent amongst the children as well as to create an awareness about pressing environmental issues confronting the world today.

                The prestigious “Master Mind” Annual Quiz Competition, part of the series of events  conducted by the Coast Guard to commemorate its 33rd Anniversary was organised  on 21 Jan 2010.  Master Mind 2010 was intended to inculcate quest for knowledge, promote awareness and spirit of competition amongst our young generation. The Chief Guest of the event was Mrs. Chitra Joshi, President, Defence Wives Welfare Association (DWWA).

         The Lieutenant Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) Bhupinder Singh PVSM, AVSM commissioned the new Coast Guard Station CGS Hutbay by unveiling the plaque.  Vice Admiral DK Joshi, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM, Commander-in-Chief Andaman and Nicobar Command and the Director General of Police Mr. SP Deol also graced the occasion.  Senior officers from Coast Guard Headquarters at New Delhi, A&N administration and from Andaman Nicobar Command also attended the function.
