The Regional Headquarters of Coast Guard, Andaman & Nicobar Region is located at Port Blair. Presently the Region is commanded by Inspector General KC Pande, TM. The Region has a force level of one OPV, three FPVs, three IPVs, two Dornier aircraft and two Chetak helicopters in this region. |

NATIONAL MARITIME DAY CELEBRATION |

District headquarters No. 9, Diglipur (Andaman) celebrated 47th national maritime day on 05 Apr 2010. To commemorate the event, lectures were delivered to the staff of DHQ-9 enabling persons to know more about the activities of Indian Shipping Industries. A quiz and painting/drawing competition for Coast Guard and defence civilian children were also organized on the occasion. Children of all age groups participated in the event with great zeal and enthusiasm. |

COMMUNITY INTERACTION AT MAYABUNDER |
|
ICGS C -140 conducted community interaction with local fishermen at Webi village, Mayabunder on 09 Apr 10. Asst Director Fisheries along with fishermen participated in the event. The fishermen were briefed about safety and security procedures while operating at sea. All fishermen were appraised with national SAR toll free No “1554” and also advised to intimate any unusual activity at sea promptly to security agencies by utilizing toll free number “1093”. A demonstration of life saving equipment i.e life jackets, lifebuoys and sea survival drills were also conducted during the interaction. |

YOGA CAMP AT CGDHQ-9, DIGLIPUR |

A yoga camp was conducted AT CGDHQ-9, Diglipur for CG personnel and their families from 17 -19 Apr 10 to improve physical fitness and imbibe habit of good life style. A total of 35 CG personnel and their family members participated in the yoga camp.

COMCG A&N GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP – 2010 |
|
The COMCG A&N Golf Championship – 2010 was held at ANCOM Golf Links at Birchgunj on 24 Apr 2010. More than 50 Golfers participated in the event. The tournament was played over 18 holes in the stable ford format and culminated with the prize distribution function. In a keenly contested tournament, Vice Admiral DK Joshi, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM, Commander-in-Chief, ANC with overall score of 32 won the Championship trophy.
