The Regional Headquarters of Coast Guard, Andaman & Nicobar Region is located at Port Blair. Presently the Region is commanded by Deputy Inspector General K R Nautiyal, TM. The Region has a force level of one OPV, three FPVs, three IPVs, two Dornier aircraft and two Chetak helicopters in this region. |

BLOOD DONATION CAMP |

The blood donation camp was organised with a view to contribute towards social cause with motto “Donate Blood, Save Life” on 13 Nov 09 as part of Coast Guard raising day on 01 Feb 2010. Shri Vivek Rae, IAS, Chief Secretary A & N administration graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
DIG KR Nautiyal, TM Commander Coast Guard Region (A & N) expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response by Coast Guard officers, men and their families. Besides CG personnel and their families, the event was attended by doctors and staff from GB Pant Hospital. |

Coast Guard Ship Kanaklata Barua rendered assisted to a foreign sailing yacht ‘Adelie’ on 18 Nov 2009 which was on a voyage from Srilanka to Malaysian Port Lankavi. The boat was stranded at Car Nicobar due to engine problem. The 35 ft long sailing yacht ‘Adelie’, with a Canadian couple onboard was on a world tour. The yacht was towed to Port Blair on 19 Nov 2009 and handed over to Port Blair Maritime Board (PMB) authorities for further formalities. |

COAST GUARD EXTENDS HELPING HANDS AT REHABILITATION CENTRE |

Uniformed personnel and their ladies under the aegis of the Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA) conducted a day-long visit to Andaman and Nicobar Multiple Rehabilitation Centre on 20 Nov 09 towards social cause. About 65 Coast Guard officers and personnel undertook ‘Shramdaan’ in the institute during which sprucing up of the surroundings, cleaning and beautification of the living areas and the compound was undertaken. Plantation in the area was also carried out besides undertaking minor repairs on the building of the Rehabilitation Centre. |

Indian Coast Guard Ship Aruna Asaf Ali arrived at Port Blair and joined the Coast Guard A & N Region Fleet on 14 Nov 09. The ship commanded by Commandant AKS Srimannarayana was formally welcomed by Deputy Inspector General KR Nautiyal, TM Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N). |

A visit to Orphanage Home ‘Pranab Kanya’ at Delanipur, Port Blair was organized by Coast Guard Ship Varad on 04 Nov 09 to lend a helping hand to the inmates. Food, clothes, basic necessities and sweets were donated to the inmates of the orphanage home. |

Annual inspection divisions for ICGS Kanaklata Barua and ICGS Akkadevi were held on 12 Nov 09 at CG parade ground. Soon after divisions COMCG (A&N) took round of the ships. Thereafter, both the ships sailed out from Port Blair harbour for sea inspection. Ships performed all the evolution/emergencies with utmost professionalism. |
