The Regional Headquarters of Coast Guard, Andaman & Nicobar Region is located at Port Blair. Presently the Region is commanded by Deputy Inspector General K R Nautiyal, TM. The Coast Guard has a force level of one OPV, three FPVs, three IPVs, two Dornier aircraft and two Chetak helicopters in this region. |

Coast Guard (A&N) Cross Country Championship |
|
|
|
Intra Region Cross Country Championship 2009-2010 was held on 01 Aug 2009 in which all units under Coast Guard Region (A&N) participated. SS Meena, NVK of ICGS Varad who completed the race in 26 minutes 39 seconds was the winner and ICGS Varad was the overall champion of the event. |

Coast Guard Volley Ball Championship |

The Coast Guard Volley Ball championship was held at Integrated Defence sports complex, Port Blair on 12 Aug 09. Three regional teams participated in the championship. Coast Guard Region (East) lifted the trophy and Andaman and Nicobar Regional team stood runners up. |

Police Marine Force Training |

A refresher training capsule course was conducted for 13 Police Marine Force (PMF) personnel of Andaman & Nicobar Police by Coast Guard Ship Varad. The training capsule covered live situations like boarding merchant vessel, sea sortie for OJT, Live survival drill, Practical fire fighting etc. |

ICGS Bhikhaiji Cama evacuated one police head constable Mr Livingston, from LOP Narcondam who was suffering from fever and was not responding to treatment. The patient was safely handed over to IRBn for further treatment at Central Health Center (CHC), Diglipur. |

Health Lecture on Swine Flu |

The ship under the aegis of CGWAA conducted a lecture on this deadly disease with a aim to spread awareness amongst the families of Coast Guard personnel at CGWAA welfare center on 28 Aug 09. The Regional Medical Officer addressed the audience and the lecture was followed by an interactive session during which various aspects related to the disease were discussed and clarified. |
