The Regional Headquarters of Coast Guard, Andaman & Nicobar Region is located at Port Blair. Presently the Region is commanded by Inspector General SP Sharma, PTM, TM. The Coast Guard has a force level of one OPV, three FPVs, three IPVs, two Dornier aircraft and two Chetak helicopters in this region. |

Trekking To Saddle Peak: CGDHQ-09 |

Andaman and Nicobar Command conducted a Trek from Shibpur to Lamiya Bay and thereafter climbed the Saddle Peak at an altitude of 732 mtrs, the highest peak in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from 24 Jun to 26 Jun 09. Officers and Sailors from Navy, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard participated in the adventure activity. |

Intra Region Volley Ball Championship |

ICGS Varad organised Coast Guard (A&N) Region Volley Ball Championship 2009 from 08 Jun to 12 Jun 09 at Integrated Defence Sports Complex, Minnie Bay, Port Blair. The team comprising of DHQ 10, DHQ - 9 and C-140 won the championship. |

International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking |

|
The international campaign “Do drugs control your life? Your life, your community, No place for drugs” covered the destructive effects of illicit drugs. ICGS Durgabai Deshmukh delivered special lectures for increasing awareness amongst all individuals about drug abuse awareness. Special DOP and essay competitions on the subject were also conducted. |
