The Regional Headquarters of Coast Guard, Andaman & Nicobar Region is located at Port Blair. Presently the Region is commanded by Deputy Inspector General K R Nautiyal, TM. The Coast Guard has a force level of one OPV, three FPVs, three IPVs, two Dornier aircraft and two Chetak helicopters in this region. |

Change of Command Coast Guard Region (A&N) |

Inspector General Satya Prakash Sharma, PTM, TM, Commander, Coast Guard Region (Andaman and Nicobar) relinquished command on 27 Jul 09. He handed over command to Deputy Inspector General K R Nautiyal, TM.
The Inspector General reviewed a ceremonial 'Guard of Honour' and Parade presented to him by a smart contingent of Coast Guard sentinels on 27 Jul 09. He was also given a ceremonial send-off by the officers and men of Andaman and Nicobar region. |

Visit of Defence and Civil Aviation Secretary |

A high level delegation comprising of Shri Vijay Singh, Defence Secretary and Shri MN Nambiar, Civil Aviation Secretary accompanied by Vice Admiral Anil Chopra ,Director General Indian Coast Guard visited the Regional Headquarters (A&N) on 09 Jul 09 to review the coastal security plans and finalizing the site for CG Air squadron. |

The Indian Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (A &N) and CGWWA felicitated and honoured the Coast Guard children on 03 Jul 09, who had excelled in the Board examinations for the year 2009. Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) and President Tatrakshika gave away the prizes to toppers in ‘X’ and ‘XII’ board examination. |

On 02 Jul 09 Coast Guard Dornier undertook a medical evacuation sortie. One patient B Singh, Adhikari was air lifted from Carnic and safely brought to Port Blair. |

CGWWA Annual General Body Meeting -2009 Coast Guard Region(A&N) |

The Annual General Body Meeting – 2009 of Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA), Andaman and Nicobar Region was held on 25 Jul 2009 at Port Blair. The AGM also coincided with the farewell to Mrs. Ila Sharma, President Tatrakshika, Andaman and Nicobar Region. She was given a warm farewell through a cultural programme presented by the CGWWA members of the region. |

Community Interaction at Camorta |

ICGS Varad carried out community interaction with local populace/ fishermen at Kamorta harbour on 29 Jun 09. Community interaction teams interacted with Tsunami displaced local tribal and apprised them about role of Indian Coast Guard as savior of fishing communities at sea and life saving measures they should adopt while venturing at sea. |

Headquarters ANC badminton championship was held at CG indoor sports complex from 13-17 Jul 09. The Coast Guard Regional badminton team was the runner up second time in succession. |
