The Regional Headquarters of Coast Guard, Andaman & Nicobar Region is located at Port Blair. Presently the Region is commanded by Inspector General SP Sharma, TM. The Coast Guard has a force level of one OPV, two FPVs, three IPVs, one Dornier aircraft and two Chetak helicopters in this region. |

Coast Guard Felicitates Young Achievers |
|

The Coast Guard Regional Headquarters, Andaman & Nicobar felicitated and honoured the young achievers of A&N Islands on 30 May 08, who had excelled in the Board examinations for the year 2008. A glittering function was held at Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (A & N), Port Blair which was attended by Principals & teachers of various Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools of the Islands, the meritorious students their parents and personnel of Coast Guard. Inspector General SP Sharma, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) presented trophies and cash awards to these meritorious students of class X and XII. A rolling trophy for the best school in the academic year was presented to Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Port Blair for its outstanding achievements. District Commissioner cum Education Secretary Shri SN Jha was the guest of honour on this occasion. |
