Her Excellency Dr. Shrimati Kamla, the Governor of Gujrat embarked the Indian Coast Guard Air Cushion Vehicle H-185 at Mandvi at 1150 hrs on 06 Jan 10 and sailed off the Mandvi Coast for area familiarization. She was received onboard by Inspector General SP Sharma, PTM, TM, the Commander Coast Guard Region (North West). During the sortie the dignitaries were exposed to the various facets of the Coast Guard Operations at sea to ensure seaward and maritime security. The stealth and amphibious capabilities of the Hovercrafts and high speed water jet propelled Charlie Boats available in the Coast Guard inventory were showcased during the occasion. Her Excellency was impressed and spell bound to witness the Indian Coast Guard professionalism at sea against all odds. Her Excellency post sortie, lasting for over an hour complemented the Indian Coast Guard in its concerted efforts in achieving safe and secure seas.
